Felicia Everard, a sophomore at The High School of Commerce, said, “This was a very unplanned pregnancy, it happened all so quickly. Girls think that getting pregnant can hold down their man, but at any moment the guy can leave and than we are the ones stuck with the baby. But your free times and other times are done because when you have to go out, you’re going out with the baby.”

Teen relationships are very popular in high school. When you think of high school a lot of people picture their “high school sweetheart” or their friends. High school relationships are usually the beginning of people starting long-term relationships and friendships. There are usually positive and negative effects that result from these relationships. Long-term friendships can happen in high school, but can also end in high school. Therefore it’s possible to meet new people, but lose old friends.

As an intelligent young adult, Nghia Nguyen is a very successful senior at The High School of Commerce. Nghia has earned maximum honors over the last two years. He is also a member of the boys’ varsity soccer team and loves to hang out with his friends.

Arlington, Texas is the site of Super Bowl XLV in February and after week one some teams already look like they have made plans not to be there. The defending AFC champion, Indianapolis Colts, look like one of them as do the heavily favored New York Jets. Even the team hosting the Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys, played like they don’t want to be there. But their interstate rival the Houston Texans look like they’re poised to make a run and so do long-time AFC power, the New England Patriots.

Tiffany Harris is a 16 year-old Puerto Rican, French and Indian teenage mother at The High School of Commerce. She was born on January 16, 1994 in Springfield, Massachusetts at Baystate Hospital. She enjoys traveling all across the country. “I like the ocean, but I like to see what I step on.” She has been to Puerto Rico, Florida, New York and many other places.

Michael Rodney is an athletic individual who loves to play basketball and soccer. “I grew up playing basketball; it’s like a habit I can’t break.” As a sixteen year-old High School of Commerce junior, he loves driving and spending time with his ‘boys.’ When he is with his friends, Michael plays basketball, goes to parties, drives around, and attempts to impress females.

Tyree Brown is a 17 year-old Jamaican senior attending The High School of Commerce. Brown has attended Commerce since his freshman year. He was born and raised in the “City of Homes” on January 16, 1993. He plans on joining the basketball and track team this year. He has eight classes on his schedule and law is his favorite. Tyree commented on his feelings about Commerce, stating that he liked it.
